In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America.
Drug Use Is Life Abuse, is a program under the Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization, that works to provide Red Ribbon materials to every student in Orange County.
With the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, we have been the catalyst behind Red Ribbon Week in Orange County since 1988.
We provide a complimentary Red Ribbon wristband for students to wear and demonstrate their commitment to a drug free lifestyle.
With the help of local businesses and our community, Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to encourage drug prevention across the county.
