Drug Use Is Life Abuse

Drug Use is Life Abuse programs

Not only nationwide, but here in Orange County, we are seeing an explosion in drug overdoses and deaths. The opioid epidemic and beyond has needlessly ruined and ended countless lives and destroyed families and communities along the way.

Through the Drug Use Is Life Abuse campaign, The Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council (OCSAC) seeks to assist our law enforcement professionals to educate students, teachers and parents about the dangers of drug abuse. Partnering with schools and education leaders, deputies lead students and parents through “Above the Influence.” This cutting edge curriculum trains youth and families how to avoid the dangers of drugs and instead build their lives on a positive foundation. OCSAC actively provides resources to grow and effectively implement this program.

In addition to education, DUILA also promotes a drug-free lifestyle by conducting safe drug collections across the county several times per year. This allows residents of our communities to drop off expired over-the-counter medicine and prescribed medications to get these substances out of homes where they pose a danger to our youth and families.
